Writers

Matt Nathanson is PhillyJock’s “critic.” In addition to examining film, television, and books, Matt is licensed to review anything in the universe. Like a city. Or a year. Or snow. Matt works in television and is a graduate of Tufts.

Poor Li Hung
will be there to file you all the exciting news, rumors & pictures from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.

Pants is PhillyJock’s sideline reporter. She was the Director of the Philadelphia Big 5, and worked in sports information for nearly a decade. She’s currently the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Sustainable Energy Developments, based in upstate New York.

MacGyver
will keep you up-to-date on the latest happenings in science & technology, with a particular emphasis on gadgets. His “How To…” series will teach you how to do all sorts of manly things with your bare hands, from gutting a fish to building a bar in your basement. Despite many false reports, he is the original inventor of the internet, which he made using only a flashlight and bellybutton lint.

Lonnie McKenzie is Phillyjock’s senior hockey correspondent. Previously, he was an editor for the Ice Fishing Inquirer and hockey analyst for Good Morning, Mooseknuckle! on ESPN-eh? (ESPN’s all Canadian sports affiliate).

Bianca Porter is the co-creator of Sex and the Illy, a postmodern dating column based in Philadelphia. Bianca grew up in South Philly and is a graduate of Villanova University. When not writing about sex, she works as a nurse at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. You may also follow her blog, Bottoms Up.

Dr. Chet Stephens was formerly America’s #1 Incarcerated Advice Columnist. He has agreed to occasionally continue his award-winning, misogynistic advice column Replace Your Divots: Dr. Chet Stephens’ Thoughts on Love, Life & the Game of Golf. Chet is a 37 handicap.

Stephen B. Smith’s deceptively simple-minded work has been described as a “a cross between Hunter S. Thompson’s Gonzo journalism and Mr. T’s fighting style in Rocky III.” He covers the 76ers and special topics.

Ron Burgundy? delivers the news.

You can search the archives of any of our bloggers (including those not pictured here) by selecting their category in the upper left corner. Some writers are on a schedule and some contribute intermittently. Here are a few other features you may see from time to time on the site.

Win/Lose/Draw is a game we like to play. “Forget what your Little League coach told you. Winning and losing is everything. Here, we render judgment on life’s winners and losers.”

The Would You Rather Game is PhillyJock’s original creative feature. You may find more information, as well as the submission form, here.
