Leroy Cole (far left) is scheduled to work on one day’s rest, General Motors has announced.
“It’s not ideal,” Cole admitted. “When I come in on only one day’s rest—which has been every day for the past thirty five years—I’m usually groggy and tired. I don’t want to be there. I’m not at my peak, mentally or physically. I can’t get into a groove the way I would when I only work every five days. Then, I come in nice and fresh. But I’m not naïve. I know that’s not how the world works. I’ll fight through it, and I won’t complain. There’s nothing else I can do. I’m not going anywhere. I’m out of options.”
