Report: “Depend on McCain” Slogan Totally Backfiring

John McCain’s campaign manager, Rick Davis, was fired yesterday after polls indicated his slogan “Depend on McCain in ‘08″ was totally backfiring.
New polls released by Quinnipiac reported that McCain was down 37 points overall since the new slogan was implemented on June 14, though slightly up with seniors and astronauts.
“I thought it was a pretty catchy slogan,” Davis said. “I thought it conveyed his strength and experience as a leader. I don’t know. I guess it just goes to show that sometimes the penthouse and the outhouse are one and the same.”
Within hours high-priced “image doctors” were called in to resuscitate the 72-year-old senator’s campaign. An early bird press conference to announced that, in order to appeal to young and minority voters - two Obama strongholds - McCain would also be ditching the Straight Talk Express and riding around the country on a newly remodeled And 1 Tour Bus.
