WYR: Draft Pick Bust / Journeyman

Would you rather be a complete bust from the ‘02 NBA draft like #6 overall pick DaJuan Wagner or a journeyman like #28 pick Dan Dickau?

Jock: What I want to know is: what the hell is someone like DuJuan Wagner doing NOW? I mean, seriously, what becomes of a dude who plays in the NBA for a year or two then turns out to be a huge bust? They probably make a million or two, but that isn’t enough to live on forever, is it? So what do they do? Is DuJuan Wagner sitting back in Camden now, wearing reading glasses, searching through Monster.com? What category is he searching through? Does he put on his resume: “NBA Player, #6 draft pick, bust”? Is Ed O’Bannon back living in his Mom’s basement until he “gets himself on track?” Is Shawn Bradley coaching 7th and 8th grade Mormon basketball? There’s just something great about imagining these guys as normal 20/30-somethings. This would make a great commercial someday; I officially copyright that idea.
(Note: for the record, I just googled Dujuan Wagner. Turns out he’s playing basketball in Poland. I’d rather be Dickau for the greatness of the name alone.)
